Established in 2008, Thomas Gadson launched an AAU basketball program that would offer opportunities for students in the Northern Virginia to compete nationally on the hardwood. Knowing there were a few options in the area for students to play after the high school season, there was few meaningful local northern Virginia organization that was available in the Fairfax, Virginia and surrounding counties for boys to play national elite level AAU basketball.
Since the inaugural season in 2008, hundreds of student-athletes have competed on Virginia Elite teams. During that period, the development instruction has helped many players improve and compete at an elite level in AAU-Grassroots competition. Many of the players have advanced to play collegiate basketball.

The mission of Virginia Elite is to encourage student-athletes to make good decisions utilizing basketball as a channel to teach life-skills. We are dedicated to helping student-athletes develop and achieve the necessary skills to achieve their maximum potential academically and athletically.
Our goal is to build character and self-esteem through education and sports at the highest level. Our programs will provide the foundation for academic achievement and guidance needed for the college selection process.
Team concepts are an absolute necessity for our athletes. We encourage a style of basketball that requires tremendous intensity on defense and total unselfishness on offense. We demand that our student athletes be in great mental and physical condition and that they excel on and off the basketball court.
